Since our first collection debuted in 2016, which featured patterned tops, quilted pants, and transitional jackets, we’ve always looked forward to growing the Voloshin line. With the addition of scarves, sweaters, and pajamas in the following years, we continued to expand our offerings, and in 2018, decided to take on one of our most exciting projects to date—jewelry.
Inspired by the beauty and spiritual benefits of gemstones, we centered our jewelry collection around rose quartz and moonstone. Rose quartz derives its name from the Greek word hyalos, meaning glass, and comes in various beautiful shades of pink. In ancient Egypt, it was even valued as a talisman with the power to prevent aging.
Spiritually, rose quartz is often called the “love stone” because of its high energy that gives off unconditional love and opens the heart chakra. This stone is for every type of love—self-love, family, platonic, and romantic. It helps you understand others, forgive, and seek compassion, which facilitates love in your life.
The moonstone has been used for centuries in a variety of cultures due to its healing abilities. Historically, the Romans believed the gem to be solidified beams of moonlight. In India, it is revered as a sacred stone with a special significance for lovers and is often used as a wedding gift.
As a deeply feminine stone, the moonstone is associated with the inner goddess and is a symbol of fertility and sensuality. It also acts as a master healer for women by bringing soothing, calming energy to help you regain your power and inner balance.
With these stones in mind, we then created settings inspired by the art, architecture, and gardens of India. We pulled inspiration from ornamental friezes of the Taj Mahal, marble inlay work throughout Rajasthan, and gardens in New Delhi. We also chose to work in beautiful sterling silver with gold plating because of gold’s significance in Indian culture. Like our clothing line, this collection is also handcrafted in Jaipur by skilled artisans.
Currently, our jewelry collection includes pendant necklaces, bracelets and cuffs, hoops, studs, and decorative drop earrings. We’re thrilled to enter into this next chapter and hope to create even more pieces in 2019. What additional jewelry styles would you like to see from us this year?
